❤️ Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • It’s super versatile. Instead of a cake batter shake, you can use flavor cake or ice cream for a new combination! For example, use chocolate ice cream and Devil’s food cake for a rich, chocolate cake shake.
  • It only takes a few minutes! Add leftover cake, ice cream, and milk into your blender, and that’s it. You can optionally top it with heavy cream, sprinkles, and more cake!

Ingredients

To make a homemade cake shake from scratch, you’ll need the following ingredients:

Birthday cake shake labeled ingredients laid out on a wooden table.
  • I used vanilla ice cream, but if you can find cake batter ice cream—even better!
  • Use leftover yellow cake. For ease, I used boxed yellow cake mix!
  • To thin out the shake, I added whole milk. Feel free to use any kind, though!
  • Top your cake shake with whipped cream (not pictured) and sprinkles!
