🍵 Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Matcha lattes >>>>>. They’re just so deliciously creamy, slightly earthy, and sweet. It’s one of my favorite drinks and something I drink almost everyday.
  • Matcha lattes at cafés and bakeries are $$$$$$. Although I enjoy treating myself to a nice matcha latte, it can get quite expensive! This is why I make 99% of my matcha lattes at home. My wallet is very grateful 😆.
  • Matcha has a number of health benefits. Matcha is a powdered green tea, which researchers believe to be high in antioxidants, help out your gut microbiome, and more!
  • It’s versatile! You can swap out different milks or sweeteners. Want a honey matcha latte? Use honey instead of granulated sugar. Feeling a strawberry matcha latte? Top it with my strawberry cold foam!

Substitutions & Variations

  • On TikTok, I’ve been seeing people whisk their matcha with cold milk instead of hot water! People have commented saying it tastes creamier, most likely because of the lower water content.
  • If you’d like a hot matcha latte, pour it over steamed or warmed milk instead of iced.
  • To sweeten your matcha latte, you can use granulated sugar, alternative sugar, honey, maple syrup, flavored syrups, etc.
  • Try topping your matcha with strawberry cold foam!

This tasted perfectly balanced with sweetness and umami. I used oat mylk and love it. I think I’ll try it with houjicha and other tea powders as well as maybe other plant mylks. Thank you for the recipe. ๐Ÿ™‚
