Introducing one of my favorite cafe drinks: the London fog, which features earl grey tea, steamed milk, and sweetener. It’s incredibly easy to make, versatile, and is the perfect drink to warm up during the cold winter months!

❤️ Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • It only takes a few minutes! While the tea is steeping, you can steam or warm up your milk.
  • It’s super versatile. Feel free to add different sweeteners to your London fog. Vanilla syrup is the most common, but you can also add honey, maple syrup, brown sugar simple syrup, or agave. Plus, you can top your drink with a fun cold foam flavor, like banana cold foam or pistachio.

Ingredients

To make a London fog from scratch, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Use your favorite earl grey tea. Here, I used the Twinings, but I also love loose leaf tea from my local tea shop.
  • Add any milk of choice, like dairy, oat, almond, etc.
  • You can use any sweetener you prefer, such as granulated sugar, brown sugar syrup, honey, etc.
  • Not pictured, but you can top your London fog with cold foam!

    How to Make A Cozy London Fog

    Step 1: In your serving mug, steep earl grey tea with hot water for 2-5 minutes, depending on how strong you want it.

    Step 2: Add chilled or steamed milk, then stir in sweetener of choice. Optionally top with a cold foam, like brown sugar cold foam or lavender cold foam. Enjoy!

    Equipment

    Ingredients 

    • 1 teabag (2 g) earl grey tea
    • ½ cup (59.15 g) hot water
    • ½ cup (244 g) milk dairy or plant-based. I prefer oat milk
    • 1-2 teaspoon (4 g) sweetener adjust to taste; can use regular sugar, stevia, agave, honey, etc. I prefer honey!

    Instructions 

    • In your serving cup, add 1 teabag earl grey tea and ½ cup hot water. Let steep for 2-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. Feel free to leave the tea bag in while drinking!
    • If you want a hot London fog, steam or heat ½ cup milk. If you want a cold London fog, use chilled milk.
      I like to use steamed milk to get a frothy top!
    • Add milk to brewed earl grey tea. Stir in 1-2 teaspoon sweetener, adjusting to taste.
    • Enjoy!
