This hojicha latte topped with hojicha cold foam is quick, easy, and comes together in less than 5 minutes. Made from roasted matcha, its flavor is robust, nutty, with hints of earthiness and caramel. It's so delicious, you'll want it in your weekly drink rotation!
In a matcha bowl or medium bowl, sift in 1 teaspoon hojicha powder. Pour in ¼ cup hot water.
Use your bamboo whisk in M and W motions until mixture is lump-free and frothy. You can alternatively use a frother. Stir in 1-2 teaspoon sweetener.
If you want your latte cold, add ice to your serving cup. If you want it hot, I recommend steaming and frothing your milk. In your serving cup, add 1 cup milk of choice, then add hojicha mixture. Set aside while you make the hojicha cold foam.
Make the hojicha cold foam:
Tip: No frother? Add everything to a jar or tupperware, and shake until fluffy! In a small cup or bowl, use frother to mix 3 tablespoons heavy cream, 2 tablespoons milk of choice, sifted 1 teaspoon hojicha powder, ¼-½ teaspoon vanilla, and ½-2 tablespoons sweetener until light and fluffy.Taste, adding more vanilla or sweetener if needed. If the cold foam is too thick, stir in a splash of more milk.
Assemble:
Pour hojicha cold foam on top of hojicha latte. Enjoy!
